Matt Brewer

A personal trainer with more than 23 years experience.

My fitness career began while serving in the United States Coast Guard, as head of the Physical Fitness Program.  I designed/implemented an instructional platform to train trainers, for USCG units, service wide.   I studied fitness and was certified at The Cooper Institute of Aerobic Research in Dallas, TX.  where I was certified in Personal Training, Strength training and Advanced Strength Training, Wellness and Behavior Modification. Additionally I was certified with the U.S.Army as a Master Fitness Trainer at FT. Benning, GA and performed joint services training for Coast Guard, Army and Air Force service personnel.

After my retirement from the US Coast Guard, I worked several years for the YMCA as a Personal Trainer (PT), Group Strength Trainer and instructor for American Council of Exercise (ACE). After that, I worked several years as an independent trainer, before deciding to open BPHAT Fitness.

A bit of tongue in cheek, BPHAT, as an acronym, stands for Brewer’s Personal Health and Fitness.  Personally, I have spent my life in the service of others, finding that silver lining and humor in all things.  Professionally, I wanted to create something different.  Unlike a big box gym, BPHAT Fitness is a uniquely private, full power training facility that provides One to One Personal Training, small group Strength and Fitness training and Power Lifting. Regardless of which training platform you choose to achieve your goal(s), my focus is to help you be the best you can be. Following the trifecta of Wellness, MIND, BODY & SPIRIT, I Educate, Motivate and Stimulate through exercise.
